Generic Release Of Pradaxa

The generic formulation of Pradaxa (Dabigatran Etexilate) has been recently released.

Dabigatran is used for deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism treatment and prevention. Dabigatran is a direct thrombin inhibitor indicated to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It can also treat venous thromboembolism prophylaxis in total hip arthroplasty.

Dabigatran is manufactured by Camber and Ascend Laboratories. It is available in 75mg and 150mg capsules.

Generic prescription drugs approved by the FDA have the same high quality and strength as brand name drugs. Generic prescription drug manufacturing and packaging sites must pass the same quality standards as those of brand name drugs.
