Launch of Generic Proventil HFA

The generic equivalent of Proventil HFA (Albuterol HFA) is now available. Proventil HFA is FDA approved for asthma and bronchospasm. Generic versions of two other albuterol HFA inhalers were released earlier this year, ProAir and Ventolin.

Generic prescription drugs approved by the FDA have the same high quality and strength as brand name drugs. Generic prescription drug manufacturing and packaging sites must pass the same quality standards as those of brand name drugs.
